Thank you for your interest in auditioning for a role in our Spring Recital story of

The Secret Garden

Please read the following details carefully.

Auditions are Saturday, February 15th. Sign up for a time slot here.

Dancers must be in 8th grade and up, and take ballet level 4-6 with excellent attendance and an account in good-standing to audition. Only ballet level 5-6 students will be considered for lead roles. Level 4 students will be considered for supporting roles.

Dancers should choose one of the song options below to choreograph a solo piece to perform at the audition (45-60 seconds). Choose the song that you feel best fits your dance style and personality.

Dancers should complete this audition form (found here) and bring to the audition.

Dancers should wear a black leotard, pink tights, ballet or jazz shoes, hair in a tidy bun for auditions.

The following areas will be evaluated during the audition process: Dancer’s attitude and work ethic, class attendance, technique, musicality, acting/mime ability and stage presence, and rehearsal availability.

There is no fee to audition, however dancers who are chosen for roles will be responsible for a rehearsal fee as follows:

      • Lead Role- $100 (minimum of six- 30 minute rehearsals to be scheduled with teacher)
      • Supporting Role- $50 (minimum of three- 30 minute rehearsals to be scheduled with teacher)

The additional costume fees will also be required:

      • Lead Role- $79 (costume to keep)
      • Supporting Role- possible $10 rental fee

Fees will be auto-charged to the card on file on March 20th.

There are a very limited number of roles. Auditioning does not guarantee a part. Having a role in past shows does not guarantee a part in this year’s show.

Negativity regarding placements will not be tolerated. If you do not get a part this year, please consider auditioning again next year! Every audition is a learning experience and we must learn to celebrate the success of others. We love each of our dancers and look forward to helping them grow through this experience! Please let us know if you have any questions.
