Andrew & Amy
Amy began her dance training at an early age and has been teaching for over 15 years. Her choreography has received many top awards at both regional and national competitions. Some of her additional training includes summer intensives with Ballet Magnificat and Master classes with Ballet Met in Columbus Ohio and the Cincinnati Ballet. She has also been involved with worship ministries in several churches, desiring to help bridge the gap between creative arts and church ministry. Amy is a graduate of Liberty University with a BS in Youth Ministries. Youth ministry is where her love of dance and passion for Jesus Christ collide. She believes that the arts are a wonderful tool to help young people's hearts connect and grow deeper in love with the Creator.
Andrew is a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Biblical Studies. He has served in various ministries, camps, and teen programs throughout the past decade. Andrew has been actively involved with youth in this area for the past several years, previously working for Lee County Parks and Rec as the director over teen after school and camp programs at Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center. In his free time, Andrew loves being with his family in the outdoors. Andrew and Amy have three children; ages 10, 8, & 5.
Karen has been a Lee County resident for 21 years and is originally from the West Palm Beach area. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She has more than 25 years' experience in administrative, sales and marketing fields. Karen is passionate about using her abilities to bring Christ-centered programs to our youth. In her free time, she enjoys travel, DIY projects, and fitness. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for 27 years. They have one daughter, Jilan - a dancer at Maranatha since age 4.
Miss Amy took her first ballet class at age 7 and fell in love. Most of her training took place under teachers from Ballet Magnificat. She also worked under two teachers from Russia and one who studied under George Balanchine himself. She has performed many variations en pointe and taken two roles in the Nutcracker alongside the travel team of the NYC Ballet. Amy became a part of the Maranatha family at the age of 16 and taught for six years. During those years, she started Agape Dance Team, a dance ministry which God placed on her heart. Another one of her biggest influences was the Dance Revolution convention, in which she participated and showcased her choreography. Amy's family spent the past several years stationed in upstate NY where she taught at a local studio and assisted with choreography for their competition teams and soloists. We are very excited that Amy is back with us and Amy is excited for the opportunity to share her passion for Jesus and dance!
Miss Jody grew up in Boston where her mother co-owned and operated a dance studio. It was there she found gymnastics and was trained for several years at Gymnastic Junction in Massachusetts. She continued dance and gymnastics through her childhood. She later married and moved to SW Florida with her husband and two children. She became very involved with gymnastics again with her daughter who took up gymnastics, going on to be a level 8 gymnast competing all over the state. Jody was able to assist in coaching and training of children at her daughter’s gym. She choreographed and taught tumbling at an elementary school, through her church, and for Pop Warner Cheer doing performances, talent shows, and going on to win a title for her team. Jody also choreographed and instructed an education DVD for Larry Bell. Jody holds a BLS with a Specialization in Psychology. After 10 years at the Lee County Schools, she became a Certified Child Protective Investigator for the Department of Children and Families. Jody’s philosophy is that every child can dance, perform and thrive given the right environment.
Miss Natalie has been dancing since the age of two. She started assisting dance classes at age 10 and began teaching ballet, jazz, and tap classes by age 15. Natalie graduated from Cypress Lake Center for the Arts dance department. She had the opportunity to further her dance education at Bates College in Maryland, Jacobs Pillow in Western Massachusetts, and New World School in Miami. Since then, she has been teaching and performing with different dance companies and entertainment groups. Some of the styles of dance she enjoys are hip-Hop, tap, ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and Zumba.
Miss Paula founded Maranatha Dance over 30 years ago. She began dancing at the age of two and a half after her doctor’s recommendations, following foot surgery. She has been dancing ever since. Her earlier training was predominately in New Orleans with Rosa Spika of the NYC Ballet and Rosemary Clement a former Rockette Dancer. She continued her training with Briarwood Ballet in Alabama. Additionally she has received training at Ballet Magnificat! and Dance Revolution. She has over 50 years teaching experience in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro and worship dance to all ages.
Ms. Allison is in her fifth season with the Maranatha family and has been dancing with Momentum Company for three seasons. She has gained dance training and experience at Dance Revolution along with the Student Teacher Education Program (STEP). Her favorite dance genres are jazz and ballet. Ms. Allison enjoys baking, cooking, and crafting in her free time, and her favorite bible verse is Proverbs 17:17. A friend loves at all times. They are there to help when trouble comes. (NIRV)
Ms. Gracie is in her sixth season with the Maranatha family and is a 2019 graduate of Maranatha’s STAR Leadership program. She has been a member of Momentum Company for three seasons and gained experience in a variety of dance genres through attending Dance Revolution for three years. Ms. Gracie’s favorite style of dance is contemporary. She loves watching sports in her spare time, including WWE, NFL and MLB. Her favorite bible verse is Proverbs 31:25. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. (NIV)
Ms. Hannah is in her 10th season with the Maranatha family and is a 2019 graduate of Maranatha’s STAR Leadership program. She has been a member of Momentum Company for five seasons and enjoys pointe/ballet and contemporary. Ms. Hannah has had dance training through a four-week summer intensive with Ballet Magnificat, six conventions with Dance Revolution, and multiple Gulfshore Ballet workshops. In her free time, she loves shopping, reading, and cooking. Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 55:22. Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Ms. Jilan is in her 11th season with the Maranatha family and has been a member of Momentum Company for six seasons. She gained dance training through Dance Revolution at five of their conventions along with involvement in Project Dance. She has enjoyed several hip hop workshops with Ramon Martinez of Pure Movement. Her favorite dance genre is contemporary/lyrical. In her free time, Ms. Jilan loves photography and playing with her dog, a Belgian Malinois. She enjoys school, and Math is her favorite subject. Her favorite bible verse is Genesis 50:20. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (NIV)
Ms. Kaylee is in her sixth season with the Maranatha family and is a 2019 graduate of the STAR Leadership program. She has been performing with Momentum Company for three seasons, and she gained additional dance training through two Dance Revolution conventions in Orlando. Ms. Kaylee’s favorite style of dance is tap. In her spare time she enjoys crafting--including sewing, crochet, and hand embroidery. Her favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (NIV)
Ms. Mary is in her ninth season with Maranatha, and she has danced with Momentum Company’s outreaches for three seasons. She has a love for ballet and has had tech training through Ballet Magnificat and Dance Revolution. Her favorite bible verse is Revelation 21:5. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” (ESV)
Miss Cathy, originally from Columbus, Ohio, has lived in Cape Coral for 4 years. She currently serves at Christian Life Fellowship as a keyboardist on the Worship Team and an advisor for the Creative Team. Cathy has an extensive 35+ year background in vocal and instrumental music, choir, drama, and choreography. She has taught piano, guitar, voice, beginning band, elementary and middle school music. She has directed children and adult choirs, written, acted in, and directed musicals and plays, and served as a Worship Arts Director, Music Minister, Worship leader and lead keyboardist in several churches in Ohio and Florida. She and her husband, Dave, have been married for 36 years and have 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law and 4 grandchildren.
Inspired Art Spaces
Cape Coral has been home to Miss Kathy for over 40 years. A student of art and journalism at Edison Community College, she changed majors to pursue Educational Media at the University of Central Florida. Her passion has always been to find creative ways to teach, which she has done for over 30 years in both elementary and secondary, private and public school settings. Writing and art are her favorite combination of creative pursuits which has produced illustrated teen and adult Bible studies, curriculums and award-winning programs, multiple websites and a children’s book!
Kathy is currently the Teacher-Librarian at Diplomat Middle School.
