Ballet Magnificat presents Ruth

Congratulations on receiving this special opportunity to perform alongside Ballet Magnificat in their production of Ruth. The performance will take place on April 25th at 6:00 PM at The Breeze Church in North Fort Myers.

About Ballet Magnificat!:

Ballet Magnificat is the world's first professional Christian ballet company. Based out of Jackson, Mississippi, Ballet Magnificat began over thirty years ago with a vision to reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ through original and powerful repertoire. About the Production Ruth:​
Ruth is a rich, captivating production that powerfully depicts the human experiences of loss, loneliness, love, and ultimately hope.
Set in Spain and America in the early 1900s, choreographer Jiri Sebastian Voborsky puts a contemporary spin on this Biblical story of tragedy and redemption. Naomi and daughter-in-law, Ruth, are bound together by their shared grief. The two women sail for America, Naomi’s home, to begin a new life. Upon arrival, Ruth is denied entrance. Boaz redeems the situation by purchasing Ruth’s citizenship in the New World. This parallels the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who paid the price for our salvation.

Ruth Information & Details
Rehearsals:
​
Rehearsals for Ruth will be integrated into the regularly scheduled Monday Elevate Ballet Workshops. Elevate Ballet Workshops will continue to include all the technical training components that the dancers have benefited from during semester one.
​
Extra Rehearsals will also be held for smaller groups on Mondays opposite of workshops from 7-8:45pm, February - April (not during spring break). The specifics of who will be required at these rehearsals will be announced at a later date.
​
Extra Rehearsals will be held on Saturday April 11th & Saturday April 18th from 9:30am-12:00pm.

Dress Rehearsal will be Friday evening, April 24th at The Breeze Church.

Attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory in order to participate in Ruth.
​
Cost:
​
The participation fee for the Ruth production is $150 per dancer. This fee covers costuming, extra rehearsals, Friday dress rehearsal with Ballet Magnificat, and Sunday intensives on April 26th with Ballet Magnificat (1:30-7:00pm). Fee will be added to all-inclusive tuition plans ($50, Feb-Apr), or charged on February 10th for families who are not enrolled in all-inclusive. Leveled and Teen dancers who are not part of Elevate can participate in the Sunday workshops for a charge of $75.

Host Families:
​
Host families are needed to house Ballet Magnificat during their visit, Thursday evening, April 23rd through Monday morning, April 27th. If you are interested in more information about being a host, please click here.
